Amari Henderson joined the Student Success Coaching team in June 2024. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, she grew up in Memphis, Tennessee from a young age. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Mississippi State University in May 2020. Amari then moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to earn her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Louisiana State University in May 2022.
During her undergraduate years, Amari embraced student leadership roles, serving as a peer mentor, camp counselor, and student tour guide. These experiences fueled her passion for Higher Education. For the past three years, she has worked in Student Success at Louisiana State University. Amari’s favorite aspect of higher education is witnessing the lifelong connections students form within themselves and among their peers. She firmly believes in the right to educational equality for all students, regardless of their background.
Amari prides herself on being a lifelong learner, committed to creating inclusive environments. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, shopping, photography, and loving on her fur baby, Sebastian.
What Amari likes most about coaching: I love seeing a student come into their own and develop over time. It’s amazing to watch students grow and define what success means to them both currently and post-graduation.
