What is Patriot Experience?

The Patriot Experience is Mason’s guided student involvement program designed to help students find their areas of interest outside the classroom and support their own Mason experience.

Patriot Experience is self-paced, self-exploratory, connects students to different services and resources on campus, and designed to enhance your student experience at Mason.

Mission: The Patriot Experience provides students with a focused approach to prepare for life after Mason by developing life skills through self-directed experiential learning.

Vision: The Patriot Experience adds intentionality to the student experience.

Our Core Tracks

There are three core tracks of the Patriot Experience program: Career Readiness, Well-Being, and Global Citizenship. Items within the Patriot Experience tracks have been intentionally identified to support a students’ Mason experience, their own definition of success, and post-graduate success.

Every fall, Patriot Experience has a First Year Challenge (FYC) for incoming freshman and transfer students to get connected to Mason and learn about the resources, experiences, and opportunities available at Mason. Students participating in the FYC are challenged to complete fifteen (15) items over the course of the fall semester.
